Nicholas Burkill is a partner in Ogier based in the British Virgin Islands.  He was admitted to the BVI bar in 2016 after some 30 years working in two City of London law firms.  He is chair of the BVI Arbitration Group, established to work in conjunction with the BVI IAC to promote BVI arbitration.  He has experience of numerous arbitral institutions around the world including the BVI IAC, both as counsel and arbitrator.  He also has extensive experience of the BVI Commercial Court and Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. He was appointed by the Chief Justice in 2019 to the Eastern Caribbean Rules Review Committee whose work resulted in the July 2023 amendments to the ECSC Civil Procedure Rules.
