FLIGHTS VIA MIAMI (MIA)
American Airlines recently introduced direct flights from Miami to the British Virgin Islands. Therefore, the most direct option from Canada, Europe, or South America would be to connect via Miami to Tortola’s Terrence B. Lettsome Airport (EIS)
There are also several excellent connecting airports around the islands. All flights to the BVI connect through another Caribbean island airport (such as Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Antigua, or St. Maarten). Your travel agent or international airline will be able to assist with booking flights.
FLIGHTS VIA THE USA
The most direct flight from North America to BVI is Miami, FL to Beef Island, BVI on American Airlines. North America optional stops include San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and Charlotte Amalie, St.Thomas (STT). Frequent connecting flight service is offered by:

If connecting via Charlotte Amalie, St.Thomas many travellers opt to take one of the frequent ferries that travel between downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and the BVI.
FERRY SERVICE FROM ST. THOMAS
Your ferry service options include Smith’s Ferry Services, Road Town Fast Ferry, and Native Son Ferry.
Things to Note:
• In March 2024, the last ferry departing Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas will be at 5:30 pm.
• You will need to ensure that your flight will be landing at least one hour before the ferry departure.
• Each of the above ferry companies alternate schedule. If arriving on 9 March your ferry will be Native Son Ferry, if arriving on 10 March your ferry will be Smith’s Ferry Services.
• Once you have booked your airline, you can book your ferry travel via the appropriate website.
• Because the ferry companies alternate, it is best to confirm with the ferry on their return schedule before purchasing a round trip.
FLIGHTS VIA ANTIGUA (ANU)
Travellers from the UK may find it easiest to travel directly to Antigua by way of the VC Bird International Airport. Connecting flights to Tortola can be booked via LIAT, a regional airline. In addition, interCaribbean Airways and VI Airlink offer non-stop flights for passengers on both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. Private charter flights are also available. Check each airline’s website for any fares and schedules.
FLIGHTS VIA ST. MAARTEN (SXM)
Scheduled service is available from St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport via Winair.
