Rebecca James

Rebecca is a Partner at Linklaters, Singapore. She specialises in international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration and public international law, with a particular focus on Asia and the Middle East.

 

With extensive experience practising in Singapore, England and Australia, Rebecca has expertise in resolving clients’ most complex and sensitive disputes across a wide range of industries (including energy, infrastructure, mining, technology, fintech, funds/private equity, banking, aviation and telecommunications). She has acted for clients in international commercial arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, under most major sets of international rules (including the SIAC, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, CIETAC, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules) and with a wide range of seats and governing laws. She has also acted for investors and States on investment arbitrations and public international law matters. Her experience extends to advising on enforcing/resisting the enforcement of arbitration awards, and resolving intractable disputes through other forms of dispute resolution.

 

Rebecca is dual-qualified in England & Wales and Victoria, Australia. She has been widely recognised as a key lawyer in international arbitration and international law by international legal directories. She has also taught at universities, and regularly speaks and publishes, on topical arbitration and international law issues. She is a Co-Chair of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations’ Asia-Pacific committee.
