Ben Woolgar

Barrister, Brick Court Chambers

Ben is a barrister at Brick Court, and appears in a wide-range of heavy-duty litigation and arbitration matters. He is ranked as a leading junior in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 across Commercial Dispute Resolution, Civil Fraud, Banking and Finance and Offshore work. He has appeared in a number of leading arbitration cases, including the Supreme Court’s recent judgment in the Mozambique v Privinvest litigation. He was called to the BVI Bar in 2021, and has appeared led and unled in the Commercial Division, Court of Appeal and Privy Council. Recent BVI cases include the National Bank Trust v Shishkhanov litigation (a c.US$2 billion fraud claim), 3AC v Digital Currency Group (in which Mangatal J refused sanction to the liquidators of 3AC to commence Chapter 11 proceedings in the US against Ben’s clients), and AMS v Amstel (where Ben appeared unled at trial, defeating a multi-million dollar unfair prejudice claim). He is a member of the Government’s Legal Services Panel.
